Document templates
Customize a document type's headings and per-section AI guidance, and create your own types, within your plan's caps.
Each document type in your workspace is a template: a set of sections, each with a heading and guidance that tells the AI what that section should contain. On paid plans you can edit these templates and create your own types.
Editing templates and creating types is available on paid plans (Pro, Team, and Consultant). On a Free workspace templates are read-only: you can still generate from the built-in types, but the editor controls are hidden. Open the templates editor from Templates in the sidebar.
What you can change
For any document type you can edit:
- Section headings. Rename, reorder, add, or remove the sections a document is built from.
- Per-section guidance. Each section carries a note telling the AI what to write there. Sharpen it to match how your team writes that document. Guidance can be up to 1,500 characters per section, and a type can have up to 50 sections.
When you generate a document of that type, ForceVue follows your edited structure and guidance.
Creating custom types
You can also create entirely new document types with their own sections and guidance, for document formats your team uses that are not in the built-in twelve.
What each plan can do
| Plan | Templates |
|---|---|
| Free | Read-only. You can generate from the built-in types but cannot edit templates or create new ones. |
| Pro | Edit the built-in types and create up to 5 custom types. |
| Team | Edit the built-in types and create up to 20 custom types. |
| Consultant | Edit the built-in types and create unlimited custom types. |
The twelve built-in types do not count against your custom-type cap. The cap is only the types you create yourself. See Plans & billing.
